    1. Reminders
    2. Libertarian McGill speaker event
    3. AIESEC Presents: The Global Village

    Dearest econonic munchkins,

Obviously you won't receive this now because I know that you're all such good and responsible little munchkins that you're all in bed by 10 on Friday evenings, with your glasses of warm milk and cocoa. Because partying is totally not what econ students do on Friday nights. No, never. So you'll get this email when you wake up, bright and early at 6:30 tomorrow morning for your morning jog!

Aaaaanyway, back to reality, 1 is a couple of reminders and 2 and 3 are outside events.

    1. Reminders
Reminder 1: Wanna see your name in print? Send in a paper you got an A or A- on to esamcgill@gmail.com by February 6th to be published in our journal! (Email us if you have questions.)
Reminder2: I've always said it, and I'll always keep on saying it: economics is THE coolest subject ever. Sorry other disciplines, when econ was given a mathematical and scientifically rigorous basis by Alfred Marshall in the late 19th century it just blew you out of the water. Or, if that doesn't convince you, for the DepARTmental Cup you need to join a team so you might as well join the department one where there'll be people studying the same subject as you. So come and represent econ at the DepARTmental cup! Email esamcgill@gmail.com with your name, and see http://www.facebook.com/events/264666850261206/ for details.

    2. Libertarian McGill speaker event
I think it's important to get a good understand of the pros and cons of the different branches of economic thought, so if you want to know how a libertarian would view the world, read the following blurb:

People often believe things that aren’t supported by the facts. Have you heard that income inequality is increasing? That women earn just 75 cents for every dollar that men earn? That the cost of living has increased? Join us for a stimulating discussion of these facts with renowned economists Steven Horwitz (St. Lawrence University) and Jason Clemens (Macdonald-Laurier Institute).
It is going to occur on January 28th from 1-4pm in Bronfman Room 178
This is a free event brought to you by Libertarian McGill and Institute for Liberal Studies. It is open to students, faculty and members of the community. Please sign up atwww.liberalstudies.ca/events<http://www.liberalstudies.ca/events>

    3. AIESEC Presents: The Global Village
The youth group AIESEC (Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales) has asked us to post this blurb, which I think will be relevant to those of you who are interested in development.

Featuring different cultural clubs, we will be having presentations, food, and activities to showcase all cultures present on McGill campus.
This is your opportunity to get an international perspective, to get involved and to find out more about global internships and development programs with AIESEC.
Bring your passports, pack your suitcases and stop by the SSMU Ballroom on Friday Feb. 3rd from 2:30pm to 6:00pm.
    For more information email internal@aiesecmcgill.ca

...and that's it! Go out, enjoy life (and enjoy making use of McGill's awesome skating rink which opened today!), etc.
