About the ESA
About the ESA
Who
are we?
The Economics Students’
Association (ESA) is a student-run organization mandated to enhance the
experience of students studying Economics at McGill University. Aimed
at, but not exclusively for students with a concentration in Economics,
the goal of the ESA is to build solidarity within the academic
community. The ESA provides students with a common interest in
Economics the opportunity to engage and participate in the growth and
improvement of the department.
What we do?
Our association organizes and
facilitates events ranging from roundtable discussions, guest seminars,
career fairs and social events.
How to become a member?
Everyone signed up as an
undergraduate student in Economics is a member of the ESA. If
you wish to join our mailing list for lectures, social events and other
activities, just email us at esamcgill(at)gmail.com
How to become an Executive?
Executives are usually elected at the end of the school year by their peers. The current Executive Board was elected in April 2009. Want to know who we are? Visit the Executives page!
What
is economics?

Economics is the study of resource
use and allocation given scarcity.
The defining feature of economics: constrained
optimization.
